Carolyn Roch Henneman
Career Highlights
Carolyn has practiced law in Texas since completing both her undergraduate and legal education at the University of Texas at Austin. Following admission to the Bar in 1994, Carolyn joined the Harris County District Attorney's Office where she tried more than fifty first chair jury trials, presented cases to the Grand Jury, and handled appellate matters.  Carolyn entered private practice in 1998.  Since that time, she has specialized in business litigation with an emphasis on employment and securities disputes.

Carolyn's employment experience ranges from defending Fortune 500 companies in discrimination, covenant not to compete, and trade secret cases to representing individuals in executive compensation, breach of contract and wrongful termination cases. She conducts employment investigations and routinely handles race discrimination, sexual harassment, FMLA, ADA and retaliation suits.  Carolyn's securities practice includes representing brokerage firms in recruiting cases and investor actions before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Carolyn practices in state and federal courts throughout Texas.  She has been named a "Rising Star" by Texas Monthly Magazine and a "Lawyer on the Fast Track" by H Texas Magazine.

Representative Engagements

  • Represented a national securities brokerage firm in an investor action alleging unsuitability, negligent supervision and research fraud.
  • Counsel for former Chief Financial Officer of a major energy corporation in an executive compensation dispute involving complex accounting issues.
  • Obtained substantial jury award in a defamation case against a local and a national union.
  • Successfully defended a national securities brokerage firm against a raiding claim.
  • Represented an international law firm in a legal malpractice fee dispute against an insurance carrier.
  • Represented an energy executive in a Sabine Pilot and defamation action involving the fraudulent booking of oil and gas reserves.
  • Represented doctors and hospitals in medical negligence actions.
  • Tried numerous felony criminal trials to successful verdict for the State of Texas.
  • Obtained an injunction restraining three former employees from using trade secrets and confidential information to solicit numerous public corporations to move millions of dollars in business to their new employer.
