Tracy Larson

Career Highlights
Tracy came to the Firm from Gibbs & Bruns, LLP where she gained extensive litigation and appellate experience.  She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in international arbitration, appellate proceedings, attorney malpractice claims, and complex commercial litigation.  Prior to entering private practice, Tracy clerked for the Honorable Edith H. Jones, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Tracy graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2006, where she was an executive editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy and research assistant to Professors Elizabeth Bartholet and Steven Shavell.

Representative Engagements
  • Successfully defendant an oil company in an international arbitration involving a significant oil and gas exploration lease in the Republic of Georgia.  The arbitrator rejected the plaintiffs' claims for over $19 million in restitution.
  • Represented CC Media Holdings, Inc. in a tortious interference case arising out of CC Media's $26 billion acquisition of Clear Channel Communications.  After a few weeks of litigation, CC Media was able to successfully close its $26 billion acquisition of Clear Channel.
  • Represented Defendant general partners in partnership dispute in which Plaintiffs asserted claims of breach of fiduciary duty for fourteen separate transactions.  Following an eight-week jury trial, the matter resulted in the jury finding no breach of fiduciary duty on all claims.
  • Represented a law firm and its partners against allegations of fraud brought by a member of a large class action.  Obtained dismissal of the action in the District of West Virginia and the Southern District of Texas and affirmances of the dismissals from the Fourth and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Represented the City of Houston in its effort to abate air pollution.  The City is opposition a nonprofit entity backed by large energy companies, which has alleged the City's air pollution ordinance is unconstitutional.  The case is pending in Harris County.
  • Represented a pension system against a large, public bank in a multi-district litigation involving claims of breaches of fiduciary duty, breaches of contract, fraudulent misrepresentations and omissions, violations of the Texas Securities Act, and other acts of misconduct that resulted in a loss of tens of millions of dollars from investments in subprime securities.  Case is pending in the Southern District of New York.
