Andrew Schirrmeister was one of
the defense counsel in a symposium sponsored by HarrisMartin Publishing entitled
Benzene Litigation Conference: Trial of a Benzene-Leukemia Case from Jury
Selection to Verdict. Andrew was responsible for the direct examination of the
defense toxicologist, Dr. Shanna Collie. A copy of Andrew’s direct examination
is attached.

Conference in Phoenix. Andrew’s presentation was entitled

Andrew Schirrmeister was a featured speaker at the HarrisMartin Benzene 101
Litigation in San Antonio, Texas. Andrew’s panel discussed exposure
assessment in the context of Benzene litigation. His presentation included
information on the toxicology of benzene, recent Texas law on exposure
causation, and an overview of five methods of calculating exposure
assessments: empirical assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring,
literature review, governmental investigations, and exposure modeling,

Andrew Schirrmeister was a featured speaker at the HarrisMartin
Benzene Litigation Conference in Marina Del Ray, California entitled
“Effective Handling of Benzene Cases: The Pros Speak”. Andrew’s panel was
entitled Pure and “Trace” Benzene Cases: The Fundamentals. Andrew discussed
the settings in which such cases arise, the potential defendants and
potential plaintiffs, joint defense issues, and the manner in which the
cases are resolved or play out in court. This written presentation addressed
the quantification of trace benzene exposure through inhalation, ingestion
